Philadelphia Migrants' Rights Forum, 6 October 2012

Mark your calendars for this event, which is hosted by Amnesty International Philadelphia. It's free and open to the public.

From the press release:
The event will open at 12:30 with snacks, live performances of world music, and a tabling session where local organizations will distribute information on migrants’ rights and offer guests the opportunity to connect with other activists. At 1:30 a panel of four experts will address various aspects of immigrants’ human rights. This will be followed by a question and answer session that will wrap up by 3:30.
All immigrants, irrespective of their legal status, have human rights. Inspired by the report In Hostile Terrain, released by Amnesty International USA in April 2012, the forum is intended to foster a better public understanding of those rights and of the egregious abuses and treacherous conditions faced by migrants at the border and in the interior of the United States.
